Anchorage Courthouse Elopement

When Alexandria reached out to me for their intimate courthouse elopement I was immediately thrilled. Not only was their story the sweetest thing, I loved their vision of their day. The most important thing for them was to be together, enjoying their day as much as they could. They wanted something simple, romantic and spontaneous. Their day was truly magical.

Alexandria and Jordan started off their morning getting ready together in their home. Jordan had flew in from Scotland just a few days before. They spent their week with family and friends, and getting the last details ready for their ceremony. They had a slow and easy Saturday morning, just them two helping each other get ready for their wedding day.

Their elopement ceremony was at Nesbett Courthouse in Anchorage that afternoon. Some of their friends and family joined them for the ceremony and it was so sweet.

We had arrived early and had time to take some photos while they looked around the courthouse. It was a stunning place and we had such gorgeous lighting that afternoon which was a surprise after some snow days. They were a little nervous and very excited for their ceremony. It was simple little ceremony, surrounded by their family and friends, with Jordan’s family on video call witnessing everything from Scotland! My favorite photo here is their reaction after being called Mr & Mrs for the first time!

After their ceremony, we did some quick family photos and then spent some time taking portraits of just them two. Again- the lighting!!!

Of course, they had to celebrate with a little drink at the famous Captain Cook Hotel that was nearby! They enjoyed some time together and even talked to some family members that couldn’t make it to share the news!

A + J wanted a very spontaneous, go with the flow day. It was meant to be that someone noticed they were newly weds and escorted them to a private floor with incredible views of downtown Anchorage, mountains and the Knik Arm.

Then it was time to head to their vow reading destination. Alexandria and Jordan wanted to read their vows privately in a location surrounded by trees and snow. We found the perfect spot for their vows and it was so special. We celebrated again with some champagne before they left to join their family for dinner at 49th State Brewing!
